How To Wrap A Big Present
How To Wrap An Odd Shaped Gift
First, try to find a box or a gift bag to put your odd shaped gift in. Wrapping a square or rectangular shaped box is always easier. If you can't find a box or bag to contain your gift, then tape tissue paper together so that it is large enough to go around your gift. Then gather the tissue paper up around the gift and tie.
Gift Wrap Bags
Gift bags are widely available in most places these days. Just pick a bag that your gift will fit into nicely. Use two pieces of tissue paper. Put one end of the tissue paper in the bag and let the other end of the tissue paper stand up out of the top of the gift bag. Use as many pieces of tissue paper to wrap around your gift. Secure the ends of the tissue paper with tape. Put your tissue wrapped gift inside of the gift bag. Fluff up the tissue paper that is coming out of the top of the gift bag. Add a card and your done.
Cellophane Gift Wrap And Foil Gift Wrap
Cellophane and Foil gift wrap are excellent choices to wrap up a gift basket. Both cellophane and foil come in clear and in several choices of colors.
Cut the cellophane to a piece that is big enough to go around the gift and about 8-10 inches taller than the gift. Gather up the sides, front and back of your cellophane. Just above the gift, secure the cellophane or foil with a pipe cleaner. Twist the pipe cleaner tight so that the bag is securely around the gift.
Another way to wrap up a gift is to get a cello bag. These are bags that are ready made of cellophane. Open up the cello bag and scrunch the sides down. Set your basket inside of the bag. Make sure that you set the gift in the center of the bag before you pull the sides up and around the gift. Secure the cellobag with a pipe cleaner above you gift.
Cover the pipe cleaner with a ribbon and a bow. We find that securing the cellophane with a pipe cleaner and then covering the pipe cleaner with ribbon works the best.
You can use ribbon, curling ribbon or cords to tie around your gift.
Add Something Besides A Bow To Your Gift
Now that you know how to wrap a gift, take a moment and add something extra to the front of it. Tie on a stuff animal or a piece of candy for a little extra. Tuck some live greenery underneath your bow to make your package extra special. Natural materials such as a pine cone, berries or cinnamon stick will make your gift smell nice.
