Gourmet Popcorn Recipe

We have a couple of great gourmet popcorn recipes to share with you! There is no need to pay a lot of money for a great tasting popcorn. Popcorn makes a great snack for your movie night or a very personalized gift.

How To Make Popcorn

You can use the popcorn popper of your choice. We have a popcorn machine and it is very easy to put all of the ingredients in the machine. If you have a machine like ours, put the following ingredients into a cup. Then pour the ingredients from the cup into the cooking kettle in the machine:

2 Tablespoons of corn syrup
1/4 Cup of light brown sugar
1/4 Cup of vegetable oil
1/2 Cup of popcorn kernals

Let the machine pop all of the popcorn. As the popcorn pops, the caramel will coat the kernels. When the popcorn is done, break up the clumps of popcorn so that it doesn't all stick together.

If you don't have a machine like ours, just pop your popcorn in your popcorn maker. In a pan on your stove top, melt the corn syrup and brown sugar together. Just pour on top of your popped popcorn and you now have gourmet popcorn!

This popcorn tastes just like the kettle corn you get at the fair, or local craft shows.

Wrap Up Your Snappy Popcorn Creation!

Now that you have followed our gourmet popcorn recipe, you need to present it as a nice gift. Use a pretty tin or a popcorn bowl. We found our popcorn bucket for $1 at our local dollar store. Then we wrapped it up in a cellophane bag and put on a pretty bowl. Our gift only cost us $3!

Change Up The Gourmet Popcorn Recipe

Add two cups of your favorite nut. Pecans, almonds or macadamia nuts taste great in popcorn. If you add one cup of toasted chopped almonds and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla...you have a great Almond toffee gourmet popcorn!

Melt 1 (12 ounce) bag of chocolate chips and pour over the popcorn and you have a yummy chocolate gourmet popcorn.

Melt 1 (12 ounce) bag of butterscotch chips and add two cups of toasted almonds and you have a out of this world butterscotch gourmet popcorn.
