Any decorations or floral sprays to put in your bow
Hot glue
One pipe cleaner or craft wire (to use in making a bow)
You can buy your glass block at most home improvement stores. Glass blocks come in different sizes. The most popular size ins the 8 x 8 x 3 inch size. We recommend that you buy them with a pre-drilled hole on the side. If you want to drill your own hole, you can. To do this you will need a diamond drill bit. It is specifically for drilling holes in glass. Use a bit that will drill you a 1/2 inch hole. On the area of the glass where you are going to drill a hole, put tape on the glass before your drill. This keeps the glass from throwing pieces of glass up at you. Stand the block on end while you are drilling the hole. Spray your drill bit with water if it starts to over heat. Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes while drilling through the glass. A pre-drilled block costs a few dollars more than a block that has no hole in it. By the time you by the diamond drill bit, the cost is about the same. By going with a pre-drilled block you don't have to worry about breaking a glass block. We go with the pre-drilled blocks from the home improvement store, Lowe's. You can now purchase soft rubber grommets (1/2 inch size at Home Improvement stores) in the electrical department and cut it so it slips over the wire and then push it into the hole to give your glass block craft a finished look. When you buy your glass you may buy a clear glass or a frosted glass. You can even frost them yourself by spraying on a frosted spray. You can sponge paint on the glass or decoupage the glass if you wish. Decals stick nicely to the glass too.

Once you have drilled your hole or purchased your pre-drilled glass block, you are ready to begin. Push the string of Christmas lights inside the hole of the glass block. You do not need to arrange the lights in the glass block. Wherever they land inside of the block will be just fine. Leave the plug hanging out of the drilled hole. All of the lights need to be inside of the block.

Now take your ribbon and wrap the ribbon around the glass block. Use hot glue to secure the ends of the ribbon together. Now take your ribbon and wrap it around the block going the other way. Secure the ends of the ribbon with hot glue.
