One Of The Best Bead Craft Ideas Around

Below is one of the best bead craft ideas around. It is easy to do. Children and adults alike to make them. These beaded dolls sell really, really well at boutiques and craft fairs. They can be a decoration on a shelf, made as an ornament or used to put on top of a gift.

Supplies Needed

12 #3 Safety pins
9 #1 Safety pins
1 Doll head
18 mm Starflakes (1 package)
12 mm Starflakes(1 package)
Rondell Beads (1 package)
4 Wavy discs beads (2 transparent and 2 solid)
1 Pair of doll glove beads
1 Pair of plastic doll hands
1 8 mm faceted bead
1 Pipe cleaner
18 Flower beads
2 Rhinestones or pearls (for earrings it is optional)
1 large needle
22 gauge wire
527 Bond Glue
Hot Glue

Doll Bead Craft Pattern:

To Make The Skirt: On each of the 12 safety pins, put 1 rondell bead and 5 of the 12 mm starflakes and 3 of the 18 mm starflakes. Close the pins. Next, string wire through the head of the pins. Put 1 Rondell bead, 3 of the 18 mm starflakes and 1 rondell bead between each of the pins. Twist the ends of the wire together to form a circle. String a piece of wire through the wire tails of the pins. Twist into a circle. Set these 12 pins aside.

To Make The Body: Take your wire and cut and yourself an 8 inch piece. Fold this wire in half. Put one 8 mm bead on one wire and push it to the fold. Twist the wire around the bead and set it aside.

Next, take the pick out of the doll head. String a flower bead to the center of a 6 inch piece of wire. Fold the wire in half and twist it three times. Put both ends through 1 of the 18 mm starflake beads, 1 wavy disc that is transparent and 1 wavy disc that is solid in color. Put a large needle on the ends of the wires and bend the wires over. Pull the wires down through the head of the doll. Take the needle off of the wires.

There are many bead craft ideas for doll heads

Now take the beaded wire that you made earlier and put one wire from the doll head through the 8 mm bead (there will only be two wires that will go through the 8 mm bead). Push the 8 mm bead up into the head of the doll and hold the bead so that it is just inside the neck. Firm up the hat wires and twist for 1/4 of an inch.

Clip that wire off and bend the clipped ends up into the neck. This method will keep the dolls face from loosing its shape.

On the remaining two wires that are coming from the dolls neck, string on the white 12 mm starflake bead and 1 of the 18 mm starflake beads. Cut the pipe cleaner to 4 inches and place it between the two wires. Do not twist the wires.

Next, add 2 of the 18 mm starflakes and 2 of the wavy discs. Take the two wires and go down through the whole in the top of the skirt, on one wire string on 1 of the 18 mm starflakes. Hold this bead up tight in the top of the skirt and twist the wires around the bead for 1/2 of an inch. Clip the excess wire off.

How To Make The Arms: On each arm put 1 rondell, 1 of the 18 mm starflake beads, 6 of the 12 mm starflake beads and 1 of the 18 mm starflakes. Clip the pipe cleaner stem, leaving 1/4 of an inch. With the 527 Bond Glue, glue on hands (thumbs up).

How To Make The Parasol: On each of the 9 pins, put on 2 of the rondells and 2 of the 12 mm starflakes. Close the pins. String the wire through the heads of the pins and put on 1 rondell, 3 of the 12 mm starflakes and 1 rondell. Twist the ends of the wire together to form a circle. String the wire through the tails of the pins and twist them together. Using the pick from the doll head, hot glue the parosal to the top of the pick. Then glue 1 of the 18 mm starflakes and a rondell to the top of the parosal. Cut the pick to the desired length and hot glue it onto the skirt, putting flowers over the glue.
